Passing A Long-Term Highway Bill Is In The Best Interest Of All of Us

If you’re frustrated with the state of our nation’s transportation infrastructure, you might be watching the ongoing congressional debate over the reauthorization of federal surface transportation programs.

The great thing about investment in our national transportation system is that it puts people to work in every state in the nation and in almost every community.  In fact, the best thing Congress can do to put Americans back to work is to pass a long-term highway bill.

At the end of the day, we’ll have something to show for the money spent – well-maintained roads and bridges, new subway stops in urban centers, and energy-efficient buses to carry people to and from work.

These investments will also improve transportation safety.  Better roads and bridges increase safety for all of us.

Tell Congress: let’s get the job done!
