Over the next few days Xenophon staffers will be blogging about the things they are most thankful for. Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on our Facebook and Twitter. Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, but this year I am feeling particularly grateful for technology. Now, I know that is not the most warm and fuzzy response, but bear with me. I am the only member of my immediate family that has moved out of the great state of Ohio. Because of this, technology is useful, if not necessary, to stay in touch. My mom tells me stories, horror stories really, of when she and my dad were in a long distance relationship in college and they spoke ONCE a week from the pay phone in their dorms (it gives me the shivers just thinking about it...) These days we can’t help but communicate. I text my mom every morning, email with my dad throughout the day, Skype with my brother and talk via instant messaging with my sister. Technology has helped to bridge the distance from my home in Dayton, Ohio to my apartment here in D.C. While I may not be sitting down at the table with them for weekly Sunday dinners, technology has allowed me to feel like a part of the family and for that, I am incredibly thankful.
“The last time we worked together, Xenophon helped produce a strategic plan that ultimately transformed a bankrupt technology company with a stock option probe into a successful $2.1 billion acquisition.”
