Xenophon managed a communications campaign for the American Iron and Steel Institute supporting steel tariffs and the political issues surrounding them. Through the creation of information sources, Xenophon educated the media on the industry's view of the steel tariff issue. Xenophon also established a third-party advocacy network among academia, the economic community and business. Xenophon developed collateral materials that provided context on the steel crisis and President George W. Bush's steel program for distribution to members of Congress and steel consumers to build support and rebut criticism of the 201 Relief program.
“Xenophon’s vital support allowed the Coast Guard to leverage an unprecedented level of cutting-edge social media venues and technology to reach the broadest audience possible.”
