During an 18-month period ending in 2010, Xenophon Strategies provided strategic internal communications counsel, message and material development as well as external media and stakeholder relations counsel to the United States Coast Guard for the preeminent maritime safety, security and stewardship organization's Modernization Effort.
The largest organizational change in the Service's 219-year history, the Coast Guard Modernization was designed to build on the service's current strengths, while capitalizing on today's technologies and best practices to produce a more efficient organizational construct and business processes, saving tax dollars and improving service to the American public. The Modernization will standardize procedures and shift the Coast Guard from a geographic-based support and command structure to a functions-based one. These changes will position the Coast Guard for operational excellence and sustainable mission execution in the 21st century.
Xenophon had three team members with a combined 35 years of communications experience designated solely for the Coast Guard business. These three professionals were embedded with the Coast Guard to support the account, with one in the Washington, DC headquarters, one in Alameda, CA and another in Portsmouth, VA.
“Xenophon’s vital support allowed the Coast Guard to leverage an unprecedented level of cutting-edge social media venues and technology to reach the broadest audience possible.”
