Ron Linton

Ron Linton, who has four-and-a-half decades of experience in government relations, planning, and communications, specializing in transportation and water resources, collaborates with Xenophon Strategies on federal and regulatory projects. He previously founded and served as the president and chief executive officer of Linton, Mields, Reisler & Cottone, Ltd. from 1968 to 1994.

Mr. Linton began his career as a print journalist before serving in the U.S. Army in 1952, and then as the Secretary of the Michigan Department of Workmen’s Compensation in 1955. He then came to Washington as a Congressional Fellow in 1959 and served in several high-level positions in Congress, including chief clerk of the Senate Public Works Committee. Mr. Linton worked on John F. Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign and was later named Director of Economic Utilization Policy at the Department of Defense.

Mr. Linton is a former chairman of the District of Columbia’s Water and Sewer Authority and has served as chairman of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. He currently sits on numerous boards of directors, including: The Downtown Cluster of Congregations, the Downtown BID and the District Alliance for Safe Housing.

Additionally, a founder of the National Urban Coalition, he chaired a task force on environmental health and authored the book, “Terracide: America's Destruction of Her Living Environment.” Having served as a visiting fellow in urban and environmental studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Linton has also been chairman of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and in 1996, headed a task force on the future of Washington's New York Avenue, a major entryway into the capital city. Mr. Linton’s dedication to civic affairs is reflected in his 28 years of service as a reserve police officer in the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, retiring with the rank of assistant chief.

Mr. Linton is a native of Detroit, Michigan where he attended public schools and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in Political Science.
