With more than two decades of experience in state and federal government, Tammy Lindenberg brings wide-ranging political skills and extensive governmental knowledge to Xenophon Strategies. Ms. Lindenberg’s intimate understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes makes her a unique asset to the Xenophon team. With expertise in government operations as well as international and domestic commerce, Ms. Lindenberg offers sophisticated analysis and strategic counsel to a diverse range of clients, including Skanska USA Building, Inc., Deutsche Post and The Salvation Army.
Prior to joining the Xenophon staff in May 2004, Ms. Lindenberg was an independent consultant on trade and commerce for a variety of businesses and industry associations. Previously, Ms. Lindenberg served for eight years as an international trade adviser to two Pennsylvania governors – Tom Ridge, who later served under President George W. Bush as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and Mark Schweiker.
In this position, Ms. Lindenberg spearheaded the development of a global trade plan for the state. Ms. Lindenberg planned and directed an aggressive effort to increase exports by encouraging foreign trade delegations to visit the state, expanding Pennsylvania’s network of overseas export promotion offices from four to 17 and appointing respected business leaders to serve as ambassadors for the state. In addition, she organized 11 gubernatorial trade missions to more than 20 countries, including Brazil, Germany, Israel, Japan and Vietnam.
The success of these initiatives was recognized in 1997 when World Trade Magazine named Gov. Ridge one of the 25 most influential people in international trade. Additionally, a 2002 report by the National Governors Association’s Center for Best Practices cited the Ridge administration’s international business development program as an effective model for other governors to follow.
Previously, Ms. Lindenberg worked for 10 years as a legislative director for Rep. William F. Clinger (R-Pa.), who served as a ranking member of the House Aviation Subcommittee during her tenure. Here, she was responsible for monitoring legislation moving through the House Ways and Means, Energy and Commerce, and Appropriations committees. Through this experience, Ms. Lindenberg developed valuable expertise related to tax and trade policy, banking issues and labor relations.
Ms. Lindenberg also has significant campaign experience at the federal and state levels through her work for Rep. Clinger in 1984 and 1986; the Tom Ridge for Governor Committee in 1994; and Patrick Conwa.
