Harvard School of Public Health Shares A Way Through COVID
There is no shortage of sources of information on coronavirus on the Internet. But, the professors at the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health have built one of the best.
The COVID-19 Path Forward website is a helpful source of easy-to-read, reliable information and news on a variety of topics for managing, recovery and long-term planning on the pandemic. It’s a great cross reference to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as other sites featured on our Xenophon COVID-19 page.
The info on Path Forward is particularly useful because it is practical information that can and should be applied by individuals, businesses and other organizations looking to implement a step-by-step plan to recovery.
There are 14 priority areas overall that Harvard professors in the fields of infectious disease have focused on. Each priority area, such as Physical Distancing, Personal Behavior Change, Public Mobilization and Slow and Measurable Restart, offers key insights and analysis for readers.
Each section also includes a curated list of studies and articles with commentary from the school’s experts in their respective fields.
If there are questions about high schools reopening in the fall, or how to provide a useful setup at home for learning, there’s information under When to Reopen Schools.
Or if you have concerns about bringing staff back to the office, follow the guidance under Healthy Building Control Strategies. This section offers news on preparing buildings for reopening, how to best clean and disinfect areas, and how ventilations systems in buildings work.
In addition to the studies, each area of focus is also provided with its own specific hashtag so people can follow specific conversations on social media.
Scientific Mobilization for example has #ScienceForTheWin.
Widescale Testing has #TestTestTest.
Vaccine is #VaccineForAll.
And one of the cleverer hashtags belongs to Personal Behavior Change – #maskingforafriend.
Regardless of your concerns, COVID-19 Path Forward offers everyone with a new resource that provides a plan, as well as hope, for our future.
