Creating a Public Affairs Campaign

The issue.

In 2014, America’s infrastructure was in desperate need of repair, modifications and upgrades. A coalition of stakeholders from rail, air, sea and roads, as well as the construction industry, came together to seek funding from Congress to help move America. Known as America’s Infrastructure Alliance (AIA), the coalition fought for and won key legislative initiatives.

With the need to build and secure support for the transportation infrastructure agenda in Congress, it was vital to build credibility and create prominent voices to educate key audiences about the need for a long-term surface transportation bill. Xenophon was able to use our mix of experience and industry knowledge to position AIA as a key player in the infrastructure debate through a series of tactics designed to raise awareness about the benefits of a long-term funding solution for the Highway Trust Fund.
