Xenophon Wins Awards For ESG Campaign, Coronavirus Response
Two Gold, One Silver and One Bronze for Work in 2019-2020
In a year filled uncertainty and challenge, Xenophon rose to the occasion, going above and beyond to provide innovative solutions for their clients.
Xenophon was proud to receive industry recognition for its work in 2020 responding to the coronavirus pandemic, collaboration with outside organizations on an ESG campaign (Environmental Social and Governance), and in helping secure passage of new legislation in the United States Congress.
In October, Xenophon received two gold, a silver and a bronze award from the Public Relations Global Network, an association of more than 50 PR agencies that span the world. Member agencies reviewed more than 200 nominations for awards in dozens of categories and selected the top three finalists in each.
Gold: Xenophon ‘Medical & Science’
Xenophon’s fast response to the coronavirus pandemic won top honors as the agency quickly stood up a new Medical & Science practice. The world-class medical team immediately began providing crisis response consultation and strategic communications services to several existing and new clients. The agency recruited three world-class medical experts who provided clients with sound scientific advice upon which they could make business decisions. The strategy helped clients navigate the rapid flow of new technical information as the world learned about the novel disease that had spread across the globe and disrupted business and economic activity.
Gold: Xenophon’s ESG Campaign
The PRGN conferred its top honor for agency collaboration to Xenophon and cometis AG, a partner agency in Germany, for their joint work on development of an innovative Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) campaign to boost economic development for the Republic of Uzbekistan. The integrated marketing program is focused on publishing an ESG report that will provide transparency and clarity to investors. The ESG campaign also includes website development, social and digital media, and direct engagement with key constituencies.
Silver: Caesars Entertainment, Crisis Response
Xenophon’s new Medical & Science practice was also awarded a silver medal for its work on behalf of Caesars Entertainment, one of the world’s largest hotel and gaming enterprises. As the pandemic broke, Xenophon’s advisors provided guidance to the client on managing the initial incident response, as well as business continuity and long-term COVID-19 recovery. Xenophon’s work helped the company communicate internally as it formulated business plans and kept employees informed. It also supported external outreach to the organization’s key publics.
Bronze: The Jockey Club, Public Affairs
As the year drew to a close, Xenophon also looked forward to the final passage of Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act of 2020 in the United States Senate. The new law will ultimately reform the Thoroughbred horse racing industry by installing new protections for equine health. Xenophon’s two-year public relations campaign, which received a bronze award from PRGN, was credited for its role in helping The Jockey Club to formulate a new bill, bring it before both houses of Congress, and ultimately secure passage in the U.S. House of Representatives. With bi-partisan support, including from Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mconnell, the legislation is expected to be signed by President Trump and become effective for 2021.
