Xenophon Wins Global Public Relations Awards
At Xenophon Strategies, we pride ourselves on our results-driven, award-winning campaigns. Our team works diligently to ensure that we put the best possible content out to represent our clients. This work has been twice recognized by The Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) in the form of a Gold and a Silver award.
In October 2019 at the annual Best Practice Awards ceremony held in Puerta Varas, Chile, Xenophon earned the Gold award for the Communication to Millennials Campaign, and a Silver for External Events. Both awards were for our work with the Rail Passengers Association (RPA) on the fourth annual “Summer By Rail” campaign.
Xenophon helped developed Summer By Rail in 2016 to promote rail ridership among younger travelers.
Billed as the “greatest internship in America,” the campaign sends a selected candidate on a month-long cross-country trip by train to see America. On their journey, the correspondent reports on the rail passenger network from inside the train. Each year, the campaign has a different theme often selected by the intern, such as baseball, culture, and cycling. The theme for the 2020 campaign, was food—something everyone loves and understands.
RPA slected Chef Madison “Madi” Butler who helped sketch out a 50-day cross-country route starting in Miami in June and zig zagging its way to San Francisco by August. Along the way, Madi posted blogs on the Summer By Rail website created by Xenophon. Chef Madi took time to meet with restauranteurs, eat local delicacies, and visit must-sees in each city, all while posting on social media–@railpassengers on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube–about the experience. Stops in 21 cities provided opportunities for Madi to speak to local and trade media all over the country.
Overall, the campaign garnered 100 percent positive media coverage in every city on the tour, helped relaunch a YouTube channel, increased RPA web traffic, and boosted impressions and follows on RPA’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts.
