Xenophon Wins Major  International PR Awards

Public Relations Global Network Awards Public Affairs Campaign of the Year & Three Others

Bucharest, Romania, October 25, 2018  – The Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) has awarded Xenophon Strategies their Gold Medal for Public Affairs Campaign of the Year at the group’s bi-annual meeting in Bucharest, Romania. Xenophon also won major awards for Crisis Communication, Communications to Millennials and Branding & Internal Communications.

The winning entry was Save Air Ambulances, an integrated campaign conducted for Air Evac Lifeteam that consisted of earned media, internet advertising highlighting patient stories, social media and a robust grassroots campaign. Save Air Ambulances resulted in over 1.5 million viewing impressions and almost 20,000 grassroots petition signatures calling on Congress to preserve federal regulation of the industry. Air Evac is the nation’s largest independently owned air ambulance company with 131 helicopter bases across the southern and central United States. Air Evac is part of Air Medical Group Holdings, Inc. a portfolio company of the private equity giant KKR.

The Crisis Communication award won by Xenophon was for crisis planning and training for Midcontinent ISO (MISO) which runs the electrical transmission grid in ⅓ of the United States. Xenophon created a custom training program and seminar for MISO’s Southern region to prepare the company for the damage that major hurricanes can do to states along the Gulf coast and across the South.

The Communications to Millennials prize was awarded for the agency’s Summer by Rail campaign created on behalf of the Rail Passengers Association (RPA). RPA sponsors a summer internship in which students travel the country by rail for a month each summer to highlight the breadth and ease of America’s passenger train system. The internship has been called “the best internship in America, perhaps the best internship of all time”.
